Snapping Turtle Laying Eggs

OBSERVATION:

July, on the side of the highway not far from Fish Creek Ponds, we spotted this old girl planting her eggs not far from the pavement.  She looked like her weight might be about 25-30 lbs.  What is always said about a face only a mother could love?
